About the role
The Public Health Officer will support Siloam Hospital’s public health programmes in Kericho. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on infection prevention, environmental health, and disease prevention activities.
Key responsibilities
- Support public health programmes and initiatives.
- Promote infection prevention and hygiene standards.
- Monitor environmental health and safety within the hospital.
- Assist with disease prevention activities.
- Collect and analyse health data for reporting.
- Educate patients and staff on public health practices.
- Maintain accurate public health records.
Required profile
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- Valid registration/licensing with the relevant professional regulatory body.
- Demonstrable knowledge of public health, sanitation, IPC and occupational health and safety.
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting (preferred).
- Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
