Senior Project Officer – Child Development, Care & Protection

About the role

The Senior Project Officer will lead the implementation of a multi‑county child development, care and protection project in Kenya, working closely with government counterparts, local partners and community networks. The role focuses on strengthening child protection systems, early childhood development services and family‑based care.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and lead all assigned project activities in line with CRS quality standards and donor requirements.
• Ensure learning accompanies project activities and coordinate evaluation efforts.
• Analyze implementation challenges, report gaps and recommend adjustments.
• Coordinate relationships with local stakeholders and act as liaison for project mobilisation.
• Conduct ad‑hoc inspections to verify timely implementation and compliance with processes.
• Track resource use through periodic budget and milestone reviews.
• Support capacity‑building and technical assistance for partners.
• Provide logistical and administrative support to staff and partners.
• Maintain complete project documentation and assist with trend analysis reports.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with experience in project implementation and coordination.
• Background in child protection, early childhood development or related humanitarian sectors.
• Proven ability to work with government agencies, NGOs and community structures.
• Strong monitoring, reporting and budgeting experience.
