Social Media Operations Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Social Media Operations Specialist to manage and grow our Kenyan social media presence across TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and WhatsApp Business. You will create culturally relevant short‑form video content, run promotional campaigns, and collaborate with marketing, sales, and events teams to boost brand awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Manage company accounts on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and WhatsApp Business.
• Develop content and promotional plans that reflect Kenyan culture, trends and audience preferences.
• Produce short‑form videos end‑to‑end: topic selection, scriptwriting, filming, editing, subtitling and publishing.
• Operate smartphones, cameras, stabilizers, lighting and audio gear with strong compositional and sound‑recording skills.
• Edit videos using CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and create graphics in Canva.
• Deliver promotional videos, brand stories, customer testimonials and event coverage.
• Plan and execute local promotions through trending topics, influencer/KOL partnerships and paid ads.
• Monitor performance metrics (views, engagement, follower growth, conversions) and continuously optimise content strategy.
• Stay updated on Kenyan news, holidays, cultural trends and competitor activity.
• Collaborate closely with marketing, sales and events teams for integrated online and offline campaigns.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Film Production or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in social media management, short‑form video production or video editing.
• Strong knowledge of the Kenyan market, local culture and social media habits.
• Excellent English communication and copy‑writing skills; Swahili proficiency preferred.
• Ability to work independently, travel locally for filming and adapt to flexible hours.
• Portfolio or examples of managed accounts and short‑form video work.
