Youth Network Officer (Youth Networker)

About the role
The Youth Network Officer will lead and coordinate IPPF’s youth network across the region, ensuring inclusive participation of young people, especially those from marginalized groups. This full‑time position is based in Nairobi and works closely with regional and global youth forums to embed youth perspectives in all Federation activities.
Key responsibilities
- Organise and mobilise youth action to create a vibrant, inclusive IPPF youth network.
- Support Youth Action Managers (YAMs) in setting and delivering strategic plans.
- Promote meaningful youth participation and youth‑led accountability in regional programmes, advocacy, and communications.
- Integrate youth voices into workshops, forums, and Federation‑wide initiatives.
- Strengthen youth leadership pathways through mentorship, networking, and capacity‑building activities.
- Champion safe, inclusive, and anti‑racist engagement of young people within the Secretariat.
Required profile
- A degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, International Development, Youth Development, Human Rights, Gender Studies, Communications or a related field.
- Fluency in English and at least one additional language (French or Portuguese preferred).
- Experience working with youth‑led organisations, networks, or community groups.
- Demonstrated commitment to sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality, and social justice.
- Strong interpersonal, planning and coordination abilities in multicultural, multilingual settings.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Comfort using digital collaboration tools and social media platforms for engagement and advocacy.
- Effective facilitation, networking and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
