Account Director / Senior Account Director – PR, Public Affairs & Stakeholder Engagement

About the role

Woodrow is seeking a senior PR and communications adviser with deep expertise in public affairs and stakeholder engagement. The role will lead client accounts, shape communications strategy, and deliver high‑impact media and campaign work in complex environments, particularly within the energy, renewables and climate sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted adviser to senior clients, leading account strategy, planning and delivery.
• Develop and execute communications, media, public affairs and stakeholder engagement plans.
• Translate complex policy, business or social issues into clear, actionable communications.
• Oversee media strategy, pitch development, press materials and maintain journalist relationships.
• Map and engage relevant policymakers, regulators, industry bodies, investors, NGOs and think‑tanks.
• Prepare clients for meetings, roundtables and high‑stakes engagements.

Required profile

• Significant experience in PR, communications and public affairs, preferably in energy, renewables or climate‑related sectors.
• Strong judgement, client‑handling skills and confidence to advise from strategy through delivery.
• Ability to manage sensitive issues, know when to lead or escalate.
