Account Manager – Client Lifecycle & Loan Management

About the role

The Account Manager will manage the full client lifecycle for Tugende’s micro‑finance products in Nakuru, from acquisition through loan disbursement, repayment monitoring and recovery. The role is on‑site and requires close interaction with clients, guarantors and field teams.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire new customers by visiting business centres, conducting stage visits and promoting Tugende’s products.
• Vet clients and guarantors in line with credit policy, record all information in the CRM and obtain system approval.
• Deliver training on asset acquisition terms, payment schedules, insurance and safety, and update system records after completion.
• Manage loan disbursement, explain payment channels, enforce the no‑cash policy and ensure signed agreements are filed.
• Monitor repayments, follow up on overdue accounts, initiate recovery actions and resolve customer complaints.
• Handle incident management, including asset theft, impoundment or mechanical breakdowns, and coordinate with insurers.
• Maintain post‑sale relationships, identify cross‑selling opportunities and retain existing clients.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent in a business‑related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in micro‑finance.
• Motorbike riding competence (mandatory).
• High integrity, transparency and dependability.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage customers, colleagues and the community.
