Accountant – Financial Reporting

About the role

The Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate accounting records and reports. This role ensures timely delivery of financial information to internal and external stakeholders while supporting expense management and fixed‑asset tracking.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports, including performance analysis against budgets.
• Maintain the company’s asset register, ensuring proper recording and tracking of all assets.
• Monitor expenses, produce variance analyses, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support integration of core business systems with financial systems to improve efficiency.
• Develop and enhance financial processes, reconciliation procedures, and internal controls.
• Coordinate reconciliation activities across finance and other departments.
• Assist internal and external audit processes to ensure statutory compliance.
• Prepare and post journal entries, trial balances, and support month‑end closing activities.
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly management and group financial reports.
• Ensure timely submission of statutory and regulatory reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA‑K or ACCA).
• Minimum 2 years of finance experience, preferably in the financial services sector.
• Working knowledge of insurance regulatory and legal frameworks.
• Strong risk awareness and ability to identify and mitigate financial risks.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with financial systems and general‑ledger management.
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Understanding of accounting principles and tax legislation.
