Accountant – Full‑time Contract (Kenya)

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our team on a full‑time contract basis in Kenya. The role involves managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with all financial transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain stationery office supplies and reconcile the same.
• Develop and monitor the company budget, producing regular budget reports.
• Maintain a fixed assets register, including depreciation calculations.
• Update and manage the petty cash register.
• Assist in managing debtors and creditors, ensuring efficient ageing of debtors.
• Reconcile bank statements, cashbooks, customer and supplier accounts.
• Liaise with external auditors as required.
• Prepare and update monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
• Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately, including general ledger reconciliation and trial balance preparation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting environment, preferably within an auditing firm.
• CPA Part 4 or equivalent qualification.
• Kenyan citizenship.

Required skills

• Strong computer literacy with proficient use of the MS Office suite.
• Experience with accounting software such as Pastel, Sage or Quickbooks (preferred).
