Actuarial Analyst – Insurance (Nairobi)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Actuarial Analyst to join the Group Actuarial team at CIC Insurance in Nairobi. The role will support the Actuarial Manager in automating and systemising IFRS 17 reporting for both Life and General Insurance lines, while contributing to the broader financial reporting transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Support automation and systemisation of IFRS 17 actuarial reporting processes across Life and General Insurance entities.
• Prepare, validate and reconcile data for actuarial modelling and reporting.
• Maintain model configurations, assumptions and documentation.
• Develop, test and enhance actuarial models used for valuation, reserving and financial projections.
• Integrate actuarial models with group reporting platforms and data systems.
• Provide testing and documentation support for system upgrades.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT and subsidiary actuarial teams to ensure accuracy and consistency of outputs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
• Progress toward actuarial qualification (minimum three IFoA/SOA/ASSA papers passed).
• At least two years of actuarial experience in Life or General Insurance.
• Working knowledge of IFRS 17 concepts.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with SQL, Python or Power BI (preferred).
• Familiarity with actuarial software such as Prophet, MoSes or AXIS.
