Air Pollution Technician Consultant

About the role

The consultant will support the LOSHAK project by conducting air pollution monitoring in the field, ensuring data quality and compliance with ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Attend mandatory training and obtain required certification before deployment.
• Calibrate, mount, unmount, clean, and maintain UPAS V2+, PurpleAir, and LASCAR monitoring devices according to SOPs.
• Conduct pre‑deployment checks, report equipment issues, and ensure proper handling and security of all project equipment.
• Perform field activities following approved study protocols, including respondent revisits for validation and quality assurance.
• Prepare daily field activity summaries and progress reports for the Field Supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma in environmental health or related sciences.
• At least 2 years of experience in surveys and field work involving air pollution monitoring.
• Fluency in English, Kiswahili and local dialects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with cultural adaptability.

Required skills

• Calibration and maintenance of UPAS V2+, PurpleAir, and LASCAR devices.
• Proficiency in ICT and computer/tablet usage and related applications.
