Architect – Design & Construction

About the role

Our client is looking for a creative, detail‑oriented Architect to join their Nairobi team. The role involves developing innovative architectural concepts, preparing technical drawings, and overseeing projects from initial design through construction while ensuring compliance with regulations and high aesthetic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architectural concepts, sketches, and detailed designs based on client briefs.
• Produce architectural drawings, plans, 3D models, and construction documentation using design software.
• Participate in client meetings to understand needs and present design proposals.
• Coordinate with engineers, quantity surveyors, contractors, and other consultants to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
• Ensure all designs comply with building codes, laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee project development from concept stage through construction and completion, including site visits.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material specifications, and contractor submissions.
• Incorporate sustainability, cost efficiency, and innovative design principles into projects.
• Prepare project reports, design presentations, and documentation for clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in architecture and interior design projects, preferably in design‑build environments.
• Architectural license or professional membership is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of building codes, design standards, and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in SketchUp.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in ArchiCAD.
• Experience with 3D rendering tools.
• Competent use of MS Office and project management tools.
