Area Sales Manager - Agribusiness

About the role

The Area Sales Manager – Agribusiness will lead a team of field sales representatives across the Rest of Kenya, driving revenue growth and expanding market presence in the agricultural sector. You will combine hands‑on leadership with strategic planning to achieve regional sales targets while fostering strong relationships with farmer groups, cooperatives and other key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train, coach and mentor a high‑performing field sales team, setting clear performance targets.
• Develop and execute monthly, quarterly and annual regional sales plans to meet revenue and profitability goals.
• Identify new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships with farmer groups, agro‑dealers, financial institutions and local leaders.
• Coordinate regional marketing campaigns, demonstrations and farmer engagement activities.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline through lead generation, follow‑up and conversion, ensuring effective use of CRM and sales tools.
• Prepare accurate weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts and market intelligence, ensuring compliance with company policies and EH&S requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of sales experience in agribusiness or related sectors.
• Proven track record of leading and developing field sales teams.
• Strong understanding of the Kenyan agricultural market and stakeholder ecosystem.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and customer‑relationship skills.
