Assistant Lecturer - Counselling Psychology

About the role

The University seeks an Assistant Lecturer in Counselling Psychology to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in scholarly research.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess undergraduate and graduate courses in counselling psychology.
• Support and mentor students in their academic and career pursuits.
• Participate in curriculum development to keep programmes current and marketable.
• Engage in programme assessment and periodic reviews.
• Supervise student research projects, theses and dissertations at both levels.
• Conduct research in the area of expertise.
• Provide service to the university, the profession and the community.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Earned Doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD or equivalent) in Psychology from an accredited university.
• Prior teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral level.
• Minimum publication points as per CUE Standards & Guidelines, 2014.
• Registration with the Counselors and Psychologists Board of Kenya (or relevant professional body).
• Supervision of postgraduate students is an advantage.
