Assistant Manager – Compliance Testing

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Compliance Testing will execute risk‑based onsite and offsite compliance testing engagements across Equity Bank’s branches and head‑office units. The role provides independent second‑line assurance on control effectiveness and regulatory compliance, supporting informed decision‑making by senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Execute risk‑based compliance testing engagements in line with approved plans and methodology.
• Perform technical compliance testing and effectiveness assessments across business units, branches, and functional areas.
• Conduct data analysis and validation for offsite testing to ensure data completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare clear testing reports that detail findings, root causes, risk ratings, and actionable recommendations.
• Adhere to Service Level Agreements for testing, reporting, and remediation timelines.
• Track and maintain issue logs and remediation trackers, ensuring timely closure of gaps.
• Validate and re‑test remedial actions to confirm control sustainability.
• Escalate high‑risk findings, regulatory breaches, and overdue actions according to the escalation matrix.

Required profile

• Experience in executing compliance testing engagements, both onsite and offsite.
• Strong analytical skills for data validation and risk assessment.
• Ability to produce concise, evidence‑based reports with clear recommendations.
• Familiarity with service level agreements and issue‑tracking processes.
• Capability to work under defined escalation and governance frameworks.
