Assistant Manager, Facilities

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Facilities will support the effective management, maintenance and optimisation of I&M Bank’s capital buildings, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant facilities across Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Manage facilities operations, maintenance programmes and capital improvement projects.
• Prepare space utilisation and planning reports to support workplace optimisation.
• Support architectural design reviews, construction documentation and technical specifications.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors and service providers for maintenance and refurbishment projects.
• Oversee commissioning and performance verification of building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, ICT, CCTV and fire detection.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with approved designs and statutory requirements.
• Review BoQs, valuations and payment applications, providing recommendations for contract administration and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, environmental and internal governance standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators, landlords and service providers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Building Science, Construction Management, Facilities Management, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 4‑6 years of relevant experience in architecture, facilities management, construction project management or building operations within a corporate or banking environment.
• Professional registration or membership with relevant bodies (e.g., BORAQS, AAK, IFMA) is preferred.
