Assistant Materials Engineer - Construction

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating across the East African region. On behalf of its client, it is recruiting an Assistant Materials Engineer to work in Nairobi, Kenya. The ideal candidate has a strong background in civil engineering and extensive experience in construction projects, especially road, building and structural works.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the quality of materials used in construction projects.
• Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and implement quality control plans.
• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
• Certified and registered engineer with the Engineering Board of Kenya (EBK).
• At least 3 years of experience in construction projects, including public road construction, government building construction and structural works.
• Proficiency in English.
• Ability to integrate well into the organization and maintain smooth internal and external communication.

Required skills

• MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with quality control software and tools.
• Experience with quality management systems and standards.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
