Assistant SOC Analyst

About the role

The Assistant SOC Analyst supports the Security Operations Center by monitoring alerts, investigating incidents, and helping maintain security tools. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience with real‑world threats and a chance to grow within a collaborative cybersecurity team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms and perform initial triage.
• Investigate incidents by analyzing logs, network traffic, and endpoint data to identify indicators of compromise.
• Collaborate with senior SOC analysts and other security teams to coordinate response actions.
• Document incident details, findings, and remediation steps in case management systems.
• Assist in creating detection rules, use cases, and playbooks to improve threat detection.
• Support configuration, tuning, and maintenance of security tools such as SIEM, EDR, email security, vulnerability management, and threat intelligence solutions.
• Help onboard new log sources and integrate additional security technologies.
• Participate in tabletop exercises, drills, and security awareness initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of IT experience; internships or prior exposure to cybersecurity are a plus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH) are advantageous.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work well in a team.
• Quick learner with adaptability to new technologies and concepts.
