Associate Field Manager – Kaloleni

About the role

The Associate Field Manager (AFM) supports the Field Manager in delivering high‑quality cash transfer programmes in Kaloleni, Kenya. The AFM leads a team of Field Officers, ensures data quality, and acts as the primary link between field operations and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and adjust the field work plan, coordinate daily activities, and track enrollment progress.
• Conduct weekly debriefs, spot checks, and desktop reviews to identify risks and improve processes.
• Manage team wellbeing through scheduling, one‑on‑one check‑ins, performance reviews, and professional development.
• Oversee quality management, data analytics, and reporting to inform team decisions.
• Handle administrative and financial requisitions, stock management, and timesheet submissions.
• Engage with community leaders, stakeholders, and donors to secure buy‑in and resolve escalated issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of team‑management experience in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong knowledge of Kaloleni’s local context, customs, and terrain.
• High integrity, empathy, and alignment with GiveDirectly’s values.
• Fluency in the Giriama language.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with digital data collection tools and field‑shadowing platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities.
