Barista cum Waiter/Waitress

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and efficient Barista cum Waiter/Waitress to join our on‑site dining team in Nairobi. You will be the first point of contact for guests, delivering high‑quality coffee and beverage service while also providing full table service throughout the shift.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly, present the menu, daily specials and promotions.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, communicate them to the kitchen and bar, and note any dietary requirements.
• Prepare espresso‑based drinks, teas, hot chocolate, fresh juices, smoothies and milkshakes following standard recipes.
• Operate, clean and perform basic troubleshooting on coffee grinders, espresso machines, blenders and other beverage equipment.
• Serve food and drinks using proper table‑service techniques, check back with guests and respond to additional requests.
• Handle guest inquiries, feedback and complaints professionally, escalating issues when necessary.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a hospitality or café environment is mandatory.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene and safety standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating espresso machines and coffee grinders.
• Ability to prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages.
• Basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
