Branch Accountant

About the role

Victoria Courts is looking for a detail-obsessed, hands-on Branch Accountant in a fast-moving retail environment. The role goes beyond accounting: it is about owning cash, stock accuracy, systems integrity and operational discipline at branch level, ensuring that what is sold, collected and displayed is fully accounted for and correctly recorded.

Key responsibilities

• Cash management: monitor daily cash collections, reconcile cash, M-Pesa and bank deposits daily, enforce cash-handling policies and resolve cash variances immediately.
• Stock accountability: keep system and physical stock aligned, track inbound, transfers, sales and returns, and lead regular stock counts and audits.
• Damages control: track damaged, missing or misplaced stock, maintain a log and work with operations to reduce losses.
• Systems compliance and reporting: ensure accurate transaction capture in ERP systems, maintain clean data and generate daily, weekly and monthly branch reports, supporting audits.
• LMA leadership: lead and guide stock clerks and support teams on stock handling, cleanliness, organization and compliance standards.
• Price tickets and product coding: ensure products are correctly coded and displayed with accurate, up-to-date price tickets.
• Product assembly and display readiness: oversee safe assembly of furniture so the showroom floor is always sellable.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA Part 3 or above preferred.
• 2-4 years' experience in retail accounting, stock control or finance.
• Experience working with ERP systems in a fast-paced environment.
