Branch Manager – Mombasa

About the role

The Branch Manager will lead the Mombasa branch of First Assurance Kenya, driving growth of both medical and non‑medical insurance portfolios. You will be responsible for achieving premium targets, retaining existing business and expanding market share.

Key responsibilities

• Manage relationships with general and medical business channels to meet premium goals.
• Develop and execute market expansion strategies for the branch.
• Oversee pipeline management, quotation processing and ensure timely delivery.
• Establish and operationalise service level agreements with intermediaries.
• Monitor inter‑departmental service standards and renewal retention ratios.
• Champion cross‑selling initiatives and coordinate intermediary activities.
• Collect market intelligence, assess competitor activity and manage knowledge capital.
• Handle debt management and control travel, event and promotional expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for broker licensing and onboarding.

Required profile

• Degree in Commerce, Insurance, Law or Business Administration.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in insurance sales or underwriting.
• Professional qualifications such as ACII, Diploma in Insurance (UK) or AIIK/Diploma in Insurance (Kenya).
