Business Development Representative

About the role

GeninWorld is looking for a Business Development Representative to be the first point of contact for startups seeking end‑to‑end product development. You will engage founders, qualify their technical needs, and connect them with our internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to inbound leads from the website, social media and referrals within 24 hours.
• Conduct discovery calls with founders to capture product vision, technical requirements and timelines.
• Qualify opportunities based on stage, budget and scope, then schedule meetings with project leads.
• Run outreach campaigns targeting fintech, healthtech, edtech and SaaS startups.
• Maintain accurate records in the CRM and follow up consistently.
• Collaborate with strategists, designers and developers to convey GeninWorld’s capabilities.
• Represent the company at startup events, demo days and networking sessions.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in B2B sales, business development or account management, preferably in tech or agency environments.
• Strong interest in startups and understanding of their challenges.
• Comfortable discussing technical topics such as React, APIs and AI integration.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Self‑motivated, organized and able to manage your own pipeline.
• Based in Nairobi or able to work remotely in a compatible time zone.
