Business Planning and Analysis Manager

About the role

Airtel Africa is looking for a Business Planning and Analysis Manager to lead business performance reporting and analysis, coordinate budgeting and forecasting, and support strategic planning and decision-making across its African operations. The role covers financial and operational performance monitoring, profitability analysis and investment review.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business performance reporting and analysis, giving actionable insights on revenue, customer, traffic, cost and operational performance for management and board review.
• Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning, aligned with business strategy and group objectives.
• Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, analyse variances and drive corrective actions with stakeholders.
• Deliver business performance commentary on key trends, risks, opportunities and performance drivers.
• Conduct market, competitor, industry and macroeconomic analysis to support strategic planning.
• Perform profitability and commercial analysis across products, segments, channels, sites and MVNO operations.
• Review and validate business cases, assessing the financial and commercial viability of investments and projects.
• Drive financial governance and budget compliance through expenditure reviews, budget optimisation and control of unbudgeted spending.
• Partner with business units to identify, implement and track cost optimisation and efficiency initiatives.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting or a business-related field.
• ACCA, CPA or CFA qualification, or currently pursuing a professional qualification.
• Minimum 4-7 years of Financial Planning & Analysis experience in telecommunications or FMCG.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capability, including quantitative and qualitative financial statement analysis.
• Ability to analyse complex business issues and develop practical, value-driven solutions.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
