Chef & Hotel Supervisor – Small Hotel in Isinya

About the role

The client is a growing small hotel in Isinya Town seeking a mature, hands‑on Chef who will also act as Hotel Supervisor. The role combines kitchen management with day‑to‑day hotel operations to ensure high‑quality service for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of meals to consistent standards, plan menus and recommend dishes based on guest preferences and available ingredients.
• Maintain hygiene, presentation, and cleanliness of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Manage kitchen supplies, stock levels, and minimise food wastage through portion control.
• Prepare and monitor food costing for menu items, ensuring meals stay within approved budgets.
• Supervise hotel staff, coordinate daily operations, and ensure a friendly, efficient guest experience.
• Monitor overall hotel cleanliness, orderliness and handle routine customer concerns, escalating major issues as needed.
• Support management in implementing procedures that improve operational efficiency and profitability.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a chef, preferably in a hotel, restaurant or similar hospitality setting.
• All‑round cooking ability with capacity to prepare diverse meals.
• Good understanding of food costing, portion control and stock management.
• Mature, responsible and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment and willingness to learn and take ownership of hotel operations.

What we offer

• Full‑time position, Monday‑Saturday, 7 AM – 9 PM (shift based on operational needs).
• Approx. 500 KES per day.
