Chief Accountant – Finance Leadership Role

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Chief Accountant to lead our finance function in Nairobi. The role combines cash‑flow oversight, tax compliance, and team leadership within a renewable‑energy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and monitor cash flow, receivables, payables and inventory using Odoo, aiming for 100% accuracy in cost allocation.
• Oversee Kenya tax obligations, prepare returns, manage audits and stay updated on legislative changes.
• Manage day‑to‑day accounting in line with IFRS, lead statutory audits and ensure robust internal controls.
• Maintain Odoo data integrity, drive automation initiatives and document processes for training.
• Coach, mentor and develop the accounting team, ensuring up‑to‑date job descriptions and performance reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA‑K or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 4 years of finance/accounting experience, including ledger and cash‑flow management.
• Proven leadership experience with multicultural teams.
• Multinational work exposure and strong compliance focus.

Required skills

• Odoo ERP proficiency.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Cash‑flow management expertise.
