Clinical Coordinator – Front Desk (Locum)

About the role

Penda Health is seeking a proactive Clinical Coordinator to manage the front‑desk operations on a locum basis. You will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience throughout their visit.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients, handle inquiries, complaints and phone calls, and escalate issues when needed.
• Coordinate with clinical and support teams to streamline patient flow and manage wait‑times.
• Register patients, obtain consent, verify medical benefits and process billing (cash, insurance, SHA, corporate partners).
• Maintain accurate patient records, submit insurance information and support front‑desk projects.
• Manage appointments, petty cash and generate relevant reports.

Required profile

• Diploma in Front Office Administration, Customer Service Management, Business Administration, Health Records or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer‑facing or reception role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Fluent in English and Swahili with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy and good typing speed.
• Ability to use digital systems for registration, billing and reporting.
