Cold Chain Delivery Specialist

About the role

Stratostaff East Africa is hiring a full-time Cold Chain Delivery Specialist in Nairobi. The role involves monitoring and adjusting refrigeration units to keep temperature-sensitive goods within their required range, delivering them safely and on time, and keeping the vehicle and its paperwork in order.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust temperature settings on refrigeration units so that cargo stays within the specified range during transit.
• Ensure all deliveries are made on time, in full and in the right quality (quantity, quality, packaging).
• Plan routes and manage time to ensure punctuality.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized truck inside and out, and regularly inspect and clean the vehicle.
• Keep licenses, certifications and documents up to date (Speed Governor, NTSA motor vehicle inspection, branding license, county distribution licenses, driver's license, vehicle insurance).
• Follow fuel-efficient driving practices, refuel on time and adhere to health and safety protocols and the Kenya Highway Code.
• Report accidents, damages or safety hazards immediately and park the vehicle safely.
• Assist with loading and unloading, communicate with dispatch, warehouse staff and customers, and keep delivery, inspection and fuel records.

Required profile

• Valid commercial driver's license (Class BCE).
• Secondary level certification; defensive driving training mandatory.
• Proven experience in cold chain or temperature-sensitive logistics preferred.
• Knowledge of local traffic laws, road safety regulations, the Kenya Highway Code and company policies.
• Ability to work independently and with others, and to handle temperature-sensitive products carefully.

Required skills

• Familiarity with cold chain logistics and understanding of refrigeration units.
• Vehicle maintenance knowledge and hygiene standards.
• Time management, route planning and excellent driving skills focused on safety and efficiency.
• Good communication and ability to manage delivery logs, inspection records and fuel usage.
