Commercial Real Estate Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to support the day‑to‑day financial operations of multiple commercial real‑estate brokerage, development, and construction firms. The role combines project cost tracking, financial reporting, and payables/receivables management to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Track project costs—including labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses—and maintain job‑cost reports and reconciliations.
• Assist project managers with budget‑to‑actual analysis and variance explanations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow analysis.
• Process vendor invoices and subcontractor payments, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
• Support billing and collection efforts for ongoing projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience in construction, real‑estate development, or property management.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and effective communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of construction or real‑estate accounting concepts.
• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
