Consultant Obstetrician / Gynaecologist

About the role

Jacaranda Maternity is seeking a Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist to join its Nairobi hospital. The role involves delivering high-quality obstetric and gynaecological care to both out‑patients and in‑patients while supporting the clinical department’s operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for obstetric and gynaecological patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Admit, investigate and treat patients requiring specialised maternal health services.
• Perform operative procedures and specialist investigations as required.
• Oversee the clinical practice of junior colleagues, ensuring patient safety, quality and efficiency.
• Adhere to Jacaranda’s clinical protocols and promote best practice across the organisation.

Required profile

• MMed in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from a recognised institution.
• Specialist registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Board.
• Post‑graduate experience in a busy maternity facility, preferably with exposure to a start‑up environment.
• Professional indemnity cover and valid medical licence.
