Consumer Insights Account Manager – Retail & Shopper

About the role

Kantar is seeking a Consumer Insights Account Manager to join its Retail & Shopper practice in Nairobi. You will work with clients to translate changing shopper behaviour and market signals into confident business decisions, building trusted relationships and delivering high‑quality research from brief to debrief.

Key responsibilities

• Build a healthy pipeline by growing existing accounts, reactivating relationships and developing relevant prospects.
• Lead client discovery conversations, translate business priorities into clear research questions and craft commercially sound proposals.
• Deliver research and insight projects on time, within scope and budget while maintaining quality standards.
• Translate evidence into clear narratives and practical recommendations that support client decisions.
• Strengthen account plans, drive renewals, upselling and cross‑selling opportunities.
• Coach project colleagues, clarify responsibilities and share Retail & Shopper knowledge across the team.

Required profile

• Experience in market research, consumer insights, analytics or related evidence‑based consulting environments.
• Hands‑on delivery of quantitative market research and shopper insight programmes, with working knowledge of qualitative methodologies.
• Ability to interpret retail, FMCG and shopper trends and turn them into client‑focused opportunities.
• Proven track record of developing client accounts, shaping proposals and converting opportunities into profitable projects.
