Contract Management Specialist (Senior)

About the role

One Acre Fund’s Kenya program, operating under the Tupande brand, is seeking a senior professional to lead its Contract Management function. The role provides senior procurement and commercial leadership across the full procurement lifecycle, ensuring consistent standards and effective risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Own and govern the Contract Management function, establishing portfolio governance and commercial risk controls.
• Lead and develop the contract management team, standardising processes and implementing digital tools.
• Structure and lead medium‑complexity procurement projects from planning through procure‑to‑pay completion.
• Conduct supplier selection and commercial negotiations, recommending optimal options within policies and budgets.
• Provide early commercial leadership for capital investment and complex procurement portfolios, reducing delivery risk.
• Manage senior commercial escalations and oversee contract performance, changes, and claims.
• Act as a procurement generalist, potentially leading other categories or improvement initiatives as priorities evolve.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in procurement, contract management, and commercial negotiations.
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive standardisation of processes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, capable of shaping requirements early in projects.
• Capacity to work with minimal manager support and handle senior escalations.
