Credit Control Officer

About the role

Cerba Lancet Africa, a clinical pathology and medical diagnosis network in Sub-Saharan Africa, is hiring a Credit Control Officer in Nairobi. The post holder manages credit and collections processes so that customers' credit needs are met, while keeping to the company's credit policy and procedures. Key responsibilities

• Ensure timely dispatch of monthly statements and invoices to clients.
• Improve cash flow by ensuring customers comply with their payment plans.
• Maintain client records such as invoices, demand letters, credit appraisals and other routine or confidential documents.
• Provide departments and branches with the information needed for debt collection.
• Resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
• Recommend adjustments to debtor accounts to the supervisor for decision making.
• Report information that helps identify risks in advancing credit services.
• Prepare schedules such as weekly and monthly credit review reports, doubtful/bad debts reports, and reports on billing, collections and resolutions.
• Plan and conduct customer visits as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related business field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated proficiency in debt management.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency.
• Strong understanding of credit management and financial analysis.
