Branch Manager - Garissa

About the role

I&M Bank is hiring a full-time Branch Manager for its Garissa branch. The manager drives branch performance against agreed standards, working closely with the head of the business segment on balance-sheet growth, sales and income, cost performance, credit management, employee satisfaction, customer experience and operational risk and control.

Key responsibilities

• Drive branch business performance through growth, profitability and customer-acquisition targets.
• Develop and execute strategies to grow funded and non-funded business portfolios.
• Pursue new business opportunities from existing and prospective customers and build strong customer relationships.
• Monitor sales performance and portfolio growth against targets.
• Analyse financial statements, assess credit requests and recommend approvals.
• Oversee credit portfolio quality, including loan arrears and excess drawings, and ensure timely perfection and registration of collateral and securities.
• Lead, coach and motivate branch staff.
• Manage operational risk, compliance and internal controls.
• Prepare regular business performance and activity reports and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Professional qualification in Banking, Finance, Business Management or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant banking or financial services experience, including 3 years in a management role.
• Membership in a recognised professional body is an added advantage.
