About the role

The Dean of the School of Education provides strategic academic and administrative leadership, implementing the school’s strategy in line with the university’s overall goals. This full‑time position is based in Nairobi and requires a strong Christian commitment.

Key responsibilities

• Articulate and lead implementation of university policies, ensuring school practices are consistent and compliant.
• Monitor curriculum delivery, syllabus use, course projection, and teaching methodologies.
• Oversee student assessment processes, including continuous assessment, examinations, and thesis supervision.
• Track research and publication outputs and manage the use of school facilities and equipment.
• Prepare and revise academic programs and calendars in alignment with the Senate schedule.
• Prepare, monitor, and report the school’s budgetary allocations and ensure proper utilization of resources.
• Lead talent management, including coaching, mentoring, and evaluating staff performance.
• Manage communication between the school and other university constituencies and drive change initiatives.

Required profile

• Earned PhD in Education Administration, Management, Educational Leadership, Policy or a related field from an accredited university.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent; experience as a Dean or Head of Department is an advantage.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience serving as Head of Department.
• Demonstrated delivery of key performance indicators in previous roles.
• Registered with the relevant professional body and committed to Christian practice.
