Director of Performance Metrics

About the role

Educate! is seeking a Director of Performance Metrics to lead the development of its data‑driven monitoring system. The role will shape how the organization tracks operational performance and measures the impact of its youth employment programmes across East Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive performance‑metrics framework covering activities, outputs and near‑term outcomes.
• Lead the transformation of the existing Performance Metrics team, establishing structures, processes and governance.
• Collaborate with implementation teams to ensure metrics are actionable and support programme delivery.
• Partner with the Evaluation team to hand off data for deeper impact analysis.
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools to provide real‑time insights to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading performance‑measurement functions in a fast‑growing organization.
• Strong understanding of monitoring, evaluation and impact‑measurement methodologies.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with program, data and evaluation teams.
• Passion for youth employment and education initiatives in Africa.

Required skills

• Experience building and scaling performance‑metrics systems.
• Knowledge of data visualization and reporting best practices.
