Export Supervisor

About the role

Yemken Trading Company Limited is looking for a proactive, results-oriented and commercially minded Export Supervisor to oversee export operations while driving international sales and sourcing new overseas customers. The position is based on site at Athi River and is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end export operations, including shipment planning, documentation, customs clearance and delivery
• Prepare export documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills and certificates of origin
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements
• Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs agents and government authorities, and resolve shipment delays and issues
• Manage export costs and report on export activity, costs and performance to management
• Sourcing and developing new overseas customers and distributors, building a pipeline of prospects
• Promote products, prepare quotations and sales proposals, and negotiate prices, payment terms and delivery arrangements
• Maintain relationships with existing international customers and work toward agreed export sales targets
• Respond to customer inquiries and complaints, and improve export procedures and reporting

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in International Business, International Trade, Sales and Marketing, Logistics or Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• At least two years of experience in export operations, international logistics, export sales or business development
• Experience sourcing overseas customers and negotiating with international buyers is an advantage
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili; additional foreign languages are an added advantage

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with export and logistics systems
