Farm Accountant – Timau, Kenya

About the role

We are seeking a qualified accountant to join our farm operations in the Timau region of Nanyuki. The role involves managing all financial aspects of the farm, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, and cash‑flow oversight to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and produce quarterly forecasts.
• Manage cash‑flow planning, rolling forecasts and liquidity monitoring.
• Oversee payroll processing, statutory deductions (PAYE, NSSF, SHAH) and ensure timely remittances.
• Implement and monitor stock control systems for farm inputs and outputs, including regular reconciliations.
• Conduct production cost analysis, variance analysis and provide actionable insights.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, maintain supplier and customer relationships.
• Coordinate the annual external audit and ensure compliance with Kenyan tax regulations.
• Strengthen internal controls and financial procedures across the farm.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (CPA(K), ACCA or equivalent) with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a senior finance role.
• Experience in agriculture, manufacturing or production environments is highly desirable.
• Willingness to relocate and work full‑time on a semi‑rural farm.
