Fashion and Design Trainer

About the role

The Fashion and Design Trainer will join Gichugu Technical and Vocational College in Nairobi to deliver high‑quality instruction in fashion design and garment construction. This role focuses on preparing students for careers in the fashion industry through hands‑on workshops, theory classes, and industry‑relevant projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate lectures and practical sessions in fashion design, pattern making and garment construction.
• Develop curriculum materials that align with TVETA standards and current industry trends.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate academic records.
• Maintain workshop equipment and ensure a safe, well‑equipped learning environment.
• Stay updated on fashion industry developments and integrate new techniques into teaching.
• Collaborate with college staff to promote continuous improvement of the fashion program.

Required profile

• Diploma/Level 6 in Fashion and Design or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Licensed by TVETA and any other relevant regulatory bodies.
• Pedagogy qualification demonstrating ability to teach effectively.
• Valid national ID or passport.
• Willingness to work onsite in Nairobi, Westlands.
