Field Enumerator Consultant for LOSHAK Population Health Study

About the role

The consultant will support data collection for the LOSHAK population health study across multiple Kenyan counties, conducting household interviews, administering surveys, and deploying wearable activity trackers.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in enumerator training, household mapping, pilot testing and obtain certification.
• Identify, locate and interview sampled households following approved sampling procedures.
• Administer multi‑module LOSHAK Core and HCAP surveys using a Computer‑Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) application.
• Conduct cognitive and neuro‑psychological assessments, collect clinical and anthropometric measurements, and deploy actigraphy devices.
• Prepare daily field progress reports, synchronize data with the central server, and resolve data quality issues.

Required profile

• Diploma in Statistics, Public Health, Community Health, Social Sciences, Demography, Epidemiology, Computer Science or related field.
• Experience conducting household or population‑based surveys, preferably national surveys led by KNBS.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with fluency in English, Kiswahili and local languages of the study area.

Required skills

• Use of tablets, smartphones or other electronic data collection platforms (CAPI/CAWI).
• Operation of digital blood pressure machines, anthropometry devices and hand‑grip dynamometers.
• Deployment and retrieval of wearable physical activity trackers (actigraphy).
