Finance Assistant Internship – Support Accounts Payable & Treasury

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Assistant intern to support our finance team in Nairobi. The role offers hands‑on experience with accounts payable, treasury activities and financial record‑keeping, working closely with various business units.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing payments by verifying invoices and supporting documentation.
• Maintain organized digital and physical financial records for easy retrieval.
• Support daily, weekly and monthly treasury activities, including cash tracking.
• Help monitor billing and follow up with teams to ensure timely collections.
• Update accounting systems with accurate transaction data.
• Assist in basic reconciliations and cash movement tracking under supervision.
• Support compliance by ensuring proper filing of statutory deductions such as PAYE, NSSF and VAT.
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial reports and audit documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Progress towards professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with accounting systems.
