Finance Assistant

About the role

Bobu Africa, a travel company focused on tailored experiences across Africa, is looking for a motivated and reliable Finance Assistant in Nairobi. The role supports day-to-day financial operations with strong numerical and analytical skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile e-TIMS, bank transactions and daily financial records.
• Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and file VAT returns and other statutory financial reports.
• Maintain and update daily transaction journals and financial records.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including payment and invoice tracking.
• Perform financial data entry, filing and maintenance of accounting records.
• Support the Finance team during audits, budgeting and other financial activities.
• Carry out any other finance and accounting duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2-3 years of working experience in Finance or Accounting.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and willingness to learn; previous experience in a tour company is preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant Part I or a relevant accounting qualification is an added advantage.
