Finance Intern – Accounts Payable Support (Nairobi)

About the role

StratoStaff East Africa is seeking a Finance Intern to join its Finance & Strategy department in Nairobi. The internship lasts 6–12 months and offers hands‑on experience supporting the Accounts Payable function within a consulting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, verify and organise supplier invoices, matching them with purchase orders, contracts and goods received notes.
• Capture invoices in the accounting system, monitor approval status and prepare payment schedules.
• Assist with reconciling supplier statements and maintaining supplier master records.
• Maintain physical and electronic filing systems for finance documents, ensuring completeness of payment vouchers.
• Support month‑end activities, prepare account reconciliations and assist with internal and external audit documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• CPA Part I completed; CPA Part II is an advantage.
• High level of accuracy, strong organisational skills and ability to handle confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Competence with Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and Accounts Payable processes.
