Finance Intern – Accounts Receivable & General Ledger

About the role

Twyford International Kenya Ltd. is looking for a Finance Intern to support the Finance Department with accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations and reporting. The role offers hands‑on experience in core accounting processes and is ideal for recent graduates eager to develop practical finance skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, verification and recording of customer invoices and financial transactions.
• Support maintenance and updating of customer accounts, payment records and General Ledger accounts.
• Monitor outstanding customer balances and follow up on overdue receivables.
• Prepare Accounts Receivable aging reports and other finance schedules.
• Perform customer, bank and General Ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Record and verify customer payments, ensuring accurate posting in the accounting system.
• Review supporting documents for financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Assist in preparing financial reports, schedules and routine Finance Department reports.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation, including filing and retrieval of financial documents.
• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of financial information.
• Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome; some exposure to Accounts Receivable or General Ledger is an advantage.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Good organizational, time‑management and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems.
