Finance Manager – Venture Finance Officer

About the role

Green.Earth is seeking a Finance Manager to lead its venture finance function in Kenya. The role ensures that all funds are moved correctly, transparently and on time, supporting the organization’s mission to restore degraded land and generate verified carbon credits.

Key responsibilities

• Record and safeguard all incoming funds on the day they are received.
• Review and approve payment requests against approved budgets, ensuring complete invoices and supporting documentation.
• Oversee income & receipts, disbursements & payments, and maintain accurate financial records, assets and reports.
• Produce monthly financial reports for the Country Director and Holding Finance.
• Identify and resolve missing documentation or discrepancies before month‑end close.
• Escalate payment requests that exceed thresholds or show signs of irregularity.
• Respond to financial queries from division heads, auditors and Holding Finance.

Required profile

• Degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Solid experience in financial management, budgeting or accounting, preferably in an operational, field‑based or nonprofit/social‑impact setting in Kenya or East Africa.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, integrity and discretion.
• Familiarity with Kenyan financial regulations, tax requirements and banking practices.
