Finance Trainee – Fixed Term (1 Year)

About the role

The Finance Trainee will support the finance team with core accounting tasks such as payables, receivables, and invoicing. This fixed‑term position offers a comprehensive introduction to the finance function and a clear pathway for professional development within a global shipping services company.

Key responsibilities

• Apply sound accounting principles to ensure accurate financial reporting and record‑keeping.
• Perform cash and bank reconciliations, resolve discrepancies and maintain daily foreign‑currency exchange rates.
• Verify and process intercompany invoices, complete monthly intercompany reconciliations with zero variances.
• Assist the Finance Manager and Accounting Manager with internal and external audits, preparing balance‑sheet schedules and supporting documentation.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Commerce or Business (B.Com/M.Com preferred).
• 0‑2 years of accounting experience and good knowledge of finance and administrative processes.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle information professionally.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
