Fraud Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Fraud Specialist to join a fast‑growing digital marketplace in Kenya. In this role you will protect the platform by detecting suspicious activity, analysing emerging fraud patterns, and strengthening the systems that safeguard users and transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor marketplace activity to identify and prevent fraudulent transactions.
• Analyse data to uncover fraud patterns, emerging risks and potential attack methods.
• Investigate escalated fraud cases and recommend actions based on risk assessments.
• Collaborate with product, data and engineering teams to improve detection and prevention systems.
• Create and maintain dashboards, reports and alerts for ongoing fraud monitoring.
• Contribute to fraud‑prevention policies, procedures and operational guidelines.
• Identify vulnerabilities and suggest improvements to enhance user trust and platform security.

Required profile

• Previous experience in fraud prevention, risk operations, trust & safety, fintech, e‑commerce or marketplace environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a detail‑oriented mindset.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential threats.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, scaling environment.
• Good level of English; proficiency preferred as the working language is international.
