French & Geography Teacher (High School)

About the role

The Aga Khan Education Service, Kenya is looking for a qualified French and Geography teacher to join its High School in Mombasa. The successful candidate will deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated learning experience in line with the national curriculum, while supporting the school’s ethos and values.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality French and Geography lessons across all ability levels.
• Develop and adapt teaching programmes and instructional materials to meet learners’ needs.
• Assess and record student performance, providing feedback and support for those who are struggling.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create schemes of work and share best practices.
• Participate in supervisory duties, ensuring student safety, well‑being and discipline.
• Engage with parents and staff through meetings and communication about student progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education.
• Minimum three years of high‑school teaching experience.
• Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• Familiarity with Kenya’s Competency Based Curriculum.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
