Full-time Cleaner – Westlands, Nairobi

About the role

We are looking for a reliable full-time Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of our facilities in Westlands, Nairobi. The role involves regular cleaning of classrooms, offices, hallways, washrooms and other common areas, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for staff and children.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming and sanitising various areas including classrooms, offices, hallways and washrooms.
• Clean and disinfect toilets, wash basins and restrooms on a regular basis.
• Use and store cleaning supplies and chemicals safely and correctly.
• Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs.
• Empty trash bins and manage proper waste disposal.
• Replenish bathroom supplies such as soap, toilet paper and paper towels.
• Support hygiene needs of small children in early learning classes.
• Assist staff with basic tasks like setting up classrooms or responding to inquiries.
• Follow health and safety guidelines, wearing protective gear when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the company compound at all times.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar cleaning role.
• Good knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physical stamina for extended manual tasks.
• High level of honesty, integrity and reliability.
• Friendly and respectful attitude, especially when interacting with children and staff.
