Fund Associate – Investment Banking (Nairobi)

About the role

Join a leading pan‑African investment firm as a Hybrid Fund Associate based in Nairobi. You will work alongside experienced professionals on high‑impact private‑equity and fund‑management projects across Africa, gaining exposure to investment analysis, transaction execution, and portfolio value creation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis, investment research, and commercial due diligence.
• Build and maintain financial models and perform company valuations.
• Support the execution of investment transactions from origination to completion.
• Prepare investment committee papers, presentations, and detailed memoranda.
• Assist with fundraising activities, investor reporting, and fund administration.
• Monitor portfolio company performance and provide strategic financial insights.
• Engage with management teams, investors, and external advisors throughout the investment lifecycle.
• Conduct market research and identify new investment opportunities across the region.
• Support portfolio value‑creation initiatives and post‑investment monitoring.
• Collaborate with senior investment professionals on strategic projects and transaction execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, transaction advisory, fund management or a similar investment environment.
• Strong analytical ability, commercial acumen and high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, collaborative mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
