About the role
The Gender Equality Consultant will support UNICEF's Accelerating Sanitation and Water for All (ASWA) Programme by providing technical, facilitation and knowledge‑management expertise. The role focuses on integrating gender‑intentional approaches into WASH programmes across eight African countries.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to embed gender‑responsive strategies in WASH interventions.
- Facilitate knowledge‑sharing sessions and develop gender‑focused tools and resources.
- Consolidate, disseminate and advocate evidence generated from gender landscape analyses.
- Lead thought‑leadership activities, including evidence generation and policy advocacy.
- Support capacity‑building initiatives for country teams and partners.
Required profile
- Proven experience in gender‑equality work within the WASH sector.
- Strong background in technical facilitation and knowledge‑management.
- Familiarity with UNICEF’s Gender Equality Action Plan and ASWA programme objectives.
- Ability to work remotely and coordinate with multi‑country teams.
